Beach Buggin’ filming

The club are interviewed for a program on the Discovery Channel, 27 June 2004

Trying to get to Guildford for 8am on a Sunday morning from North London wasn't going to be easy – so I didn't manage it! This was where LTV members and the Dub Addicts were cruising from down to Southsea. So I just headed to the show with the roof down on my own. But on the main road towards Portsmouth I spotted a green camper in a layby, with a tall bloke walking around... hang on: green camper, tall bloke, that's Paul! So I stopped further down the road and rang his mobile.

Sure enough it was the TallPauls! Paul and Sarah's son James had a ‘call of nature’ which meant luckily, I found out that the cruise was late starting and there was a pit stop at the next services! So I joined the cruise afterall down to what became a sunny, but windy afternoon. The LTV display consisted of 7 cars, one camper and 2 banners that survived for about 30 minutes before blowing down.

The large LTV female presence meant that a TV production company working for the Discovery Channel, wanted to film Kat, Shell, Elaine and Jackie (founder members of the Luvie Dubbies, the female half of our club) with their bugs!! I was also interviewed sat in the back of my bug, as a token male!

Apart from the 15 minutes of fame, it was a very chilled out day by the seaside with plenty of beach buggies.
Paul picked up a bargain roof rack for his van and like a few others, some unexpected sunburn, despite the cold breeze!
