5 Million Mexican Volkswagens

On May 2, Volkswagen de Mexico celebrated the production of vehicle number 5,000,000, in a prestigious ceremony conducted at its plant in Puebla, that was headed by the President of the Republic of Mexico, Vicente Fox, and by the president of the Executive Council of Volkswagen AG, Dr. Ferdinand Piëch.

The production of the 5 millionth vehicle, a red New Beetle, represents a proud moment for the company and has resulted from the effort and tenacity of all those who are part of the Volkswagen family.

During the ceremony, Volkswagen de Mexico donated the New Beetle vehicle 5,000,000 to the National System for the Integral Development of Familia (DIF) in support to its program "Niños of the Street".
