Gran Turismo 2

Having played Gran Turismo for a while (always regarded as the most realistic driving game for the Sony Playstation), there was only one big disappointment - no Volkswagens. I am glad to say that omission has been rectified with Gran Turismo 2.

Now you get the chance to virtually burn off the Lupo, Golf, and of course the New Beetle. VW apart there are dozens of other cars to choose from, including the Audi TT. The driving is still as excellent as ever, with each car and track giving unique characteristics that you have to get used to. The graphics are improved from the last version, but the most exciting part of the game is the driving itself.

In Gran Turismo 2 there are more tracks, and the chance to get off the tarmac and onto the dirt. If you choose a specific car, you can choose to enter a specialist race, the New Beetle Cup for instance.
Having said that, I haven't put in as much time as I would like on the game, In which you take driving tests, start off with a pot of money buy a second hand car, win races, earn money and get better cars. I cannot seem to transfer the money and cars I had in the old Gran Turismo, which means I have to retake by test, win a few races and save up for that New Beetle I want. That apart, its a great improvement on a game that already regularly got 10 out of 10 for its driving experience. If you've got a Playstation - get the game, take your test and begin saving for that Volkswagen or Audi you've always wanted to drive at breakneck speed.
