Here at Last

Right-hand drive versions of the New Beetle have begun arriving in the UK and will cost just £14,950 on the road, over £1000 less than had been predicted and with the same high level of equipment. This news will be welcomed by the 3000 customers who rushed to place deposits on the initial consignment of New Beetles many months ago.
There’s also good news for fans of the New Beetle who have not yet placed an order as this ears allocation of right-hand drive cars has been increased to 8000 units compared with the previously forecasted 5000.
All New Beetles come with the 2.0 litre 115 bhp petrol engine which also powers the Golf GTi, and with a comprehensive standard equipment list that includes anti-lock brakes, driver and front seat passenger airbags, front seat mounted side airbags, electric front windows, electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors, remote control central locking and alarm, air conditioning, 16? alloy wheels and, of course, a bud vase. They will also be backed by Volkswagen's three year unlimited mileage warranty and 12 year anti-perforation cover.
Options on the right-hand drive Beetle will include a CD autochanger, leather upholstery, a sunroof, winter pack (heated front seats and washer jets, low washer fluid warning light and headlight washers) and four speed automatic transmission with dynamic shift programme.
