We all need our vehicles to pass the annual health check, commonly known as the MOT test. Feared and favoured in equal measure-depending on how well we have looked after our pride and joy.

I have been taking the cars I own over the last 14 years to Unit 4 Auto , Station Road , Borehamwood in Hertfordshire.

Proprietor, Mr. Alan Dollman, has been running this well respected MOT testing station for some 17 years, and I can personally validate for his competence, employing qualified service mechanics. Far from the screwdriver and hammer to the chassis belting brigade; integrity and experience are the preferred pre-requisite tools here.

(In case you think this is another blind recommendation, far from it as I've had my cars fail on occasions! Why? Because of complacency in believing the MOT was just an annual stroll).

Not exclusive to Unit 4 Auto but very welcome nevertheless is the two week free of charge re-test (So giving you the chance to correct that failure-if one occurs).

So why am I recommending a government recognised MOT testing station-which is compulsory any how? Because Unit 4 Autos also undertake servicing of all makes including our Vee Dubs-and will offer discounts to club members on production of a current membership card! That's why.

So remember to speak to Mr. Dollman when booking your Volkswagen in for its service requirements, or come to that anything mechanical.
