Christmas Party 99

It’s now the year 2000 and I suspect that, just like myself, Christmas is fast becoming a distant memory for you all. However, I’m delighted to tell you about the excellent evening that we all had at the club’s Christmas party…..
The fact that the drinks were wonderfully cheap was a bonus but I think the real success was the atmosphere. Many familiar faces from the events held throughout the year showed up and boogied the night away – the sit-on-the-floor chain was a fun sight to see! There were some wonderful outfits, especially Julian in his tux and Alex in his pirate costume. It’s lovely to see everyone dressed up – normally we’re all in jeans and jumpers because most VW events are outdoors!
We had some fabulous prizes in the raffle; two mobile phones, three huge stacks of CD’s, a couple of good Beetle books, a years’ free club membership, a years’ free RAC cover and a couple of bottles of booze. Congratulations goes to all those who won – particularly to Noel (aptly named!) whose birthday it was and who won a bottle of wine.
Hopefully the hangovers the following day weren’t too bad but I think everyone who came along had a brilliant time and won’t regret it. I know that many of you will turn up for the AGM on 15th January 2000 – we’re making a special effort to keep it short and sweet so that we all have more time to party afterwards. If you want to join the festivities please join us – the meeting isn’t going to be long (not if we can help it!) and there’s a disco and buffet afterwards.
