I recently saw a report of this vehicle in a London newspaper and have actually seen one going down river alongside the Chelsea embankment. An ex microbiologist has set up Frog Tours with a fleet of 30 vintage WW2 DUKW amphibious trucks. Many of these would have seen action on D-day and throughout the war in Europe. Frog Tours have kitted the trucks out with new engines, more comfortable seats and covers for the 30 passengers.
They offer a 90 minute sightseeing trip around London, both on road and on the river, even having a slipway to the river built near the London Eye on the south side of the river. Whatever ever next, Schwimmwagen taxis?
