Q
Golf Seats
Dear
Jackie/ Alex
I have a Mk 1 Golf Gti and I would like to renew the seat fabric. Can
you tell me where to get it and can you also recommend an upholsterer?
Do any members have experience of doing this?
The fabric I need for the seat cushion has either red or grey stripes.
I also need the plain black fabric for the seat edges. As I live in
London (NW) I would prefer an upholsterer in this area.
Thanks very much for your help. I will keep you informed of the results!

I once
put mk II golf seats in a beetle and re-covered them myself.
There's a company in the US called TMI which makes all kinds of upholstery
goodies for the whole VW range (including the Rabbit as they call the
Golf).
You cannot order direct from them but they supply several UK firms.
The Americans told me to contact Karmann Konnection, who mainly supply
Ghia and Bug parts, but they where happy to order golf seat covers for
me.
I'll put your query in WS so that anybody else who wants seat trim can
be in the know

Wheel Paint
Dear
Louis
1970
1300 Beize Beetle Saloon, Chassis Number 1103063043
Can any of the members help me please? I am about to have the wheel
rims of my beetle grit blasted and resprayed. I would like them to be
authentic so I am trying to get details of the actual original colour.
It is a silver finish but that's all I know.
I would be grateful for any information
at all.
