North Weald
We started out nice and early to miss any traffic.
A fine but misty start, we knew it was going to get better. We did not
see any VeeDubs on our way down, was this a taste of things to come. Well
no, not that there was a crush to get in you understand, but enough too
make a nice day of it. I have seen the birth of a few shows now, and if
they get the "8th Mile" drag track up and running, I see this
1 day show getting bigger and hopefully better.
Essex club seem to have been there in force, they
had in excess of 15 motors of all air cooled descriptions and some water
pumpers for the baseball cap "n" berbury boyscout there. Plenty
of other clubs took along some motors, but I did not see any LTV stickers
except my own, I could be wrong,"n" if I am I will apologise
next year when we all meet up at the weald. Going back to the waterpumpers,
there really was a lot of them, not my tipple I'm afraid, but that is
what got me into VeeDubs in the first place, (the fact we are all different,
yet all the same). So you lot dawn your best (BLERBURY) "n"
get your ass 's blanket down there. As I said earlier, IF there had been
the drag racing I think it would have made it bigger, but the boys from
the VWDRC still came and did the best they could. Some tasty burn outs,
that kept the petrol heads happy for a while, Me inc.
There was a really wicked stunt display, and
if any of you have seen it this year at the various shows you'll be able
to explain it to your Bud-Vars won't you. With it being an old WW2 air
field, there was some interest on the landing strip, an old Dacota still
in its war time livery, as it took off I looked round only to see enough
other people do exactly the same as me, nice to know you're not alone
The show finished at about 4pm. Sorry there is not more content, but as
is so often the case with shows the first is not always the bench mark
to be judged by

Brighton Breeze
We went to Brighton, it was wet but we did find a
good camp site for next year, as yet again the toilets were bad. It was
OK though there was so many T2s the hole of Madeira Drive was awash with
lovely old motors. We got there on friday with no problems, except my
exhaust fell off, good job I had a gaskit. the weather at that time was
v good. We got to the event early and stayed late. Sunday the weather
was again v good so we head off going home until the afternoon, that gave
us time for the fun fair on the pear. The trip home was uneventful, I
think most either went early or stayed late
