VW Action

As we are only 30 or so miles from Peterbough show ground, we didn't camp out as that way I could have a good look round,as you know the dog is not at all interested in vw parts, only other dogs "n" really he only wants to eat them or, well you get the picture I'm sure.

The weather was glorious for the whole weekend. Neat my good lady and her sister were busy with their STANDARD DELUX clothing stand which I must say did really well, her sister is not into VeeDubs but even she said she will be going to all next years shows camping and everything, (as she put it, the atmosphere is great, just people out to have fun).

I had our two kids + their cousin, so entertain them off in search of adventure we went. First up the bouncy castle, then balloon animals, then the clown, then the videos, then the magic act. Oh yes then there was the parade. This went on from 10am and stopped at about 5pm.

In between all this there was some really good timed circuit races going on,"N" with some good prangs into the armco rails which brought out some wonderful whoops from the crowds, (black baja +white polo) well done who ever you were. We also saw a cut and shut mini split in yellow almost go over , it was up on two wheels before it recovered, needless to say it finished its run nice and slowly (I'd say a bit shocked). Any of you lot who have a Baja Bug or Bus should try this run, the art of full throttle power slides through the corners (get your ass out "n" hammer it), Way Cool, It would make a good sticker "ah".

The show "n" shine was a huge success just going on the amount of entrants, there was juts about every kind of air cool vw :- and even water pumpers, mostly all of them the same just varying degrees of colour, but that is just a personal view. My favourite out of these was a type 34 razor edge in newtria brown, lovely lines lovely.

My friend Steve the northener took his split cabbed gypsy, red cab, black "n" white glory checker caravan, not very fast but when your there V cool , V comfy. WOW ALL THIS WAS JUST SATURDAY.

On the sunday more good weather, More bouncy bloody castles, balloon animals, clowns, videos and magic acts, but there was also banger racing out the back, so one eye was on the kids, one eye was on the bangers and as I said the weather was great, so the other eye was on the ladies, They as always did not disappoint, the men folk.

I look forward to seeing you and them next season, or at the "nat" indoor swap meet the STANDARD DELUX stool will be there so please look us up.

As a big club, do not let it get dysfunctional, no one should let the club lie dormant for to long, it might not wake up in the end. Yes we are all different, but that just reflects life, so come on make an effort for next year, you just have to park with the club to make a good show, you do not have to sleep with any one other than your own.(PUT YOUR MOTORS IN YOUR OWN CIRCLE WITH OUR CIRCLE NEXT TO YOUR CIRCLE)
