New 100bhp TDi for the New Beetle

From the end of the year, the New Beetle will also be available in Europe with a new pump/injector TDi power plant with 74 kW (100bhp). The high-torque diesel engine option (240 Nm at 1,800 rpm) ensures good performance in the New Beetle (top speed is 178 km/h) in combination with a very low fuel consumption of only 5.1 litres per 100 kilometres.

The engine range for the New Beetle now features seven options, from 55 kW (75bhp) to 125 kW (170bhp), including two diesel units.
