Tech. Info Yes, there's more to the Internet than pictures of naked people, mp3s and offers of more Viagra than you can swallow. You can use it to find tons of useful info to help you solve those VW puzzles. Fixing just about anything on your Dub, wiring diagrams and going for that bigger engine; it's all up there. I have gathered a few sites I have found that are little gold mines of useful tech info. Get surfin. Oh, and don't forget the clubs own forum to share your views and even get advice while you're on the web.
In their own words: "aircooled.info aims to be your one stop technical resource for your air-cooled VW project. This site is based on the theory that Volkswagen used mostly the same mechanical parts and principles in their manufacture of aircooled vehicles. Many of the procedures on this site however are based on those for type 1 vehicles / beetles. Although with a little modification some basic knowledge these can be easily adapted for use on type 2, type 3 and type 4 cars. So this site may be of use to you camper, notchback and squareback owners as well."
Many of you will know the Texas Bug Shop from the article they previously let us use on buying a Beetle. They have also rounded up some of the best tech articles on the web for just about anything you might want to attempt. Its all there, so take a look, it'll take you a while to exhaust this site.
Rob and Dave's Aircooled Volkswagen Pages www.geocities.com/aussiebug1970/index.html
Rob and Dave's main objective in assembling the procedures and information on this Web page is to provide unambiguous, straightforward information that hopefully will help VW enthusiasts who are not necessarily trained mechanics but are willing to get their hands a bit dirty to keep their beauty on the road. We have gleaned the information in our procedures from many sources, then refined and fine-tuned them from our own experience. We hope you will find them useful. This site is mostly text with few frills so that it will be very fast loading. We will be adding some graphics, but will keep most of these on separate pages so you won't have to load them unless you want to. What more can I say, a great site with a load of useful info. David's Volkswagen Home Page
This is one great site for the watercooled VW enthusiast. One thing I was particularly impressed by was their guide to swapping engines between just about any watercooled VW. Tons of other stuff for you water heads as well. "This non-profit page is for those who enjoy Volkswagens. Whether you drive a Volkswagen because it is fun and reliable transportation or because you believe that it is truly fahrvergnügen , I'm sure you will enjoy my site. Here you will find pictures of most models from around the globe, the latest FAQs and information, plus ideas to make your Volkswagen look and drive better. I would like to welcome all visitor input to help make this a totally wünderbar VW Home Page" |
